OctoGORGG Hotel

We have 40 rooms blocked in the Évora Hotel. There are some advantages in this location: better rooms, indoor swiming pool, free parking space... and a BIG room where we'll have the banquet Friday night.

Reservations
Double room is 64 euros per night (extra bed 20 euros/night), single room (for those not wanting to share) 47 euros/night. Breakfast, car parking and all taxes included. Reservations should be sent to Mr. Manuel Filhó by e-mail (mfilho@tuiviagens.pt).
You'll have to mention GORGG in the subject line and state what kind of room you need and the dates of arrival and departure from the hotel. He'll need credit card information to make the reservation (credit card will not be billed now). That means name on the card, number, expiry date and security number. If you're not at ease sending this info by e-mail, I can think of two methods: send the credit card info divided by two mails, or send it by fax (fax number: +351 213124781). If you still don't feel secure, you can also give him these by phone (+351 213124706) if you really prefer that. He's usually at office between 10 am and 6 pm (lunch break is 1 pm/2 pm), Lisbon time (that's the same as London). However, he's sometimes working out of office, so I'd suggest a previous e-mail contact whatever the method you'll use in the end. Manuel Filhó is an Office Manager for a well established travel agency (Tui) and a very reliable person. You can write him in English, French and Spanish. All reservations can be cancelled until Oct. 11 without a penalty, after that they'll charge one night.

Manuel can also help you if you need another hotel for pre or post Gorgg, and he can also get some interesting prices on car rental. Here are some examples of the prices he gets:
Group I car (Opel Corsa Comfort type): 265 euros/week
Group J car (Opel Astra 1.4 type): 400 euros/week
Group L car (Opel Vectra type): 520 euros/week
All cars with automatic transmission (manual transmission also available, of course) and air conditioning. Prices include unlimited mileage, insurance (except franchise, but this could also be included for an extra 2 or 3 euros a day), assistance and all taxes. This prices assume you'll pick and return the car in Lisbon's airport.

Hospitality Room
Like last year, there will be a Hospitality Room fee, to cover all the drinking needs of fellow Gorggers. Unlike last year, I didn't get a beer deal as good as LeComité. So, this year's HR fee will be 25 euros per adult. This will cover all the beer, soft drinks, water and wine you'll be able to drink in the HR. All common areas of Octogorgg (Hospitality, Reharsal and Banquet Rooms) will be non-smoking for the comfort of... well, non-smokers. But you can smoke in the corridor and hall just next to the rooms. As for kids, of course they don't have to pay the GORGG HR fee...

Banquet
For the banquet night, they (the kids) just have to pay (well, their folks, I mean) for the meal. I have no exact figures yet, but it will be around 25 euros per person. Still debating this with the hotel, so there's no rush. People with special needs for the banquet night (like vegetarians) please send me a mail for the usual place. I've arranged with the hotel to have (a maximum of) 10 veggie meals ready for Friday night. The banquet will be of the buffet genre, with plenty of stuff to choose from. Of course, most of the stuff are Portuguese traditional recipes, so be prepared... Basically, there's a lot of apetizers (including one thing that will surprise you, I think), main fish course, main meat course, deserts, drinks and coffee.
