GORGG 2001 Planned Events

Well GGang, it's about time that we posted what the event plans are. The plans aren't all fully formed, and could still be subject to change, but here they are:

Thursday
Early bird reception. For those arriving in the area on Thursday or sooner, Dave Sr. will be hosting a reception at his home in Mississauga on Thursday, October 4, starting around 7pm. This will afford the early attendees the opportunity to meet Gary and John, and other list members while consuming alcholic beverages and munching on whatever we have in the gastro dept. To RSVP and obtain detailed information regarding getting there, contact Dave by email.

Sound like any fun? Well, there's more... To encourage (or comfort) the spouses, significant others, and "also going alongs" we are setting up some activities for the non-GORGG addicts!

GORGG 2001 Hot Tub Club

GORGGed out?? You're not left out! We haven't forgotten you. While the GORGGS are hunkering down over their beer entranced by who was in what band when -- Join our informal "Hot Tub Club". The hotel has a hot tub, pool and sauna (however, they close at 11pm) -- but who says we can't make sure even the non-GORGG addicts have fun?? So far -- suggestions include:

A day trip to Niagara Falls (ok -- we'll let the GORGGs come too). Cost will depend on numbers interested.
Shopping (of course). Oakville itself has boutiques and a great waterfront area, nearby is Trafalgar Mall
Euchre group/ tournament.
Gambling!! (oh, "FORCE" KJ to take a group to Mohawk slots) -- a casino is also located in Niagara Falls for "full" gaming (blackjack, etc).
Nature lovers -- hiking in Bronte Creek Conservation area.
Wine tasting (yes, Canada is a leading wine producer!).

If you have any special interests (art galleries, historic sites, or other ideas -- let us know and we'll see what we can do). This is not to take away from any site seeing you'd like to do on your own (or with a GORGG), but we want to be sure everyone is included in weekend activities!!
