The
site for GORGG 2010 is the Ramada
Edinburgh Mount Royal Hotel, Princes Street, Edinburgh,
Scotland.
This place has the most spectacular views of Edinburgh Castle and
numerous other monuments. It's also right in the middle of the city,
within walking distance of all the places you'd want to see and the
airport bus, as well as the main train station are just 3 minutes
walk. The rates they
quoted are £70 per double/twin, £100 per triple and £60 per
single
room. (That's UK pounds) They also promised as many rooms as they
could with a view of the castle. That's a very good rate for the UK in
such a prime position. Be sure if you quote block number "2763024"
that will ensure you get the right deal although quoting "GORGG"
is the same. Call
the Ramada Jarvis directly +44 844
815 9017 to make your reservation, as there is no way to enter the group
code on their web site. The hotel will accept booking for GORGG up till the
18th September after which time they will
only accept reservations at the agreed rate SUBJECT TO AVAILABILITY. |

To anyone
flying in, the shuttle bus from the airport drops you approximately 100 metres
from the hotel, at Waverley train station. There are several regular bus services between Edinburgh airport and the city centre. The bus stands can be found in the front of the terminal building outside the UK arrivals lounge. The number 100 bus is a regular shuttle which runs between the airport and the city (close to the bus and train stations and the high street.) This service runs 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, every ten minutes during peak hours and every half an hour off-peak. Parking in Edinburgh is prohibitive and the hotel has NO PARKING. If you can and you have one, the use of a Blue Disabled Badge is permissible. Almost everything you could wish to see or use is within walking distance so don’t fret. The public transport is very comprehensive and since Edinburgh is undergoing major works for the new tram system it would be a nightmare to drive unless you know it very well. The best solution if you are driving is the Park and Ride; The best is the Hermiston or Riccarton as there is no charge and overnight parking is allowed. |
